When Peter Opsvik started to work on the Tripp Trapp®, his aim was for children of all sizes to be able to sit in a natural way at the family table with their elbows at table height. Tripp Trapp® is fully adjustable in both height and depth, and is the first chair that can actually grow with your child. Your child can sit comfortably and the family table becomes the biggest and best tray ever put in front of a children’s chair.
As an adult, we have the luxury of being able to rest our feet on the floor, allowing us to move freely to get comfortable. For your child, there is no such luxury. Tripp Trapp® therefore features a unique, adjustable footrest that brings the floor up to your child. This creates better balance and comfort, as your child can easily shift their weight. By sitting with the feet supported and elbows at table height, your child can move easier and naturally, and use their body without strain. It’s all about support, balance and movement.
The Tripp Trapp is also handy for Mom and Dad to use as a step stool to get out of reach item in the kitchen! (However we suggest not letting your little genius see you doing this.)
To give the child optimal security, Stokke has developed a harness, that is constructed in a way that still offers the child full freedom to move in the chair. The harness is intended to be used when the child is between 6 and 36 months of age. To utilize your Tripp Trapp as a high chair a baby rail and cushions in a range of colors and designs are sold separately. The Tripp Trapp is made of cultivated beechwood, providing strong, solid and durable product that is also environmentally friendly. The Tripp Trapp is available in the following colors: white, natural, cherry, walnut, black, red, orange, lime and turquoise; it measures: 31” high x 19.25” deep x 18” wide. There is a 7-year warranty on all wooden components!
